BREAKING NEWS: Protection Order GRANTED!

Today, Judge Kelly Joe McKibben granted Melissa and her daughter a protection order against Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey. According to the protection order, Jonathon is not to have any contact with them, including via third party. This includes physical distances, e-mail, snail mail, fax, etc. No contact simply means NO CONTACT! Jonathon is also to surrender any firearms to the Brevard County Sheriff's department immediately!

Despite requesting multiple continuances, Jonathon failed to show up for the court hearing. Based on evidence provided to the court, Judge McKibben ruled in favor of the petitioners, Melissa and her daughter.

This is a great day for justice!

In the next few days, the Brevard County Court of Clarks should have the verdict submitted via its website.

Update: Court Hearing Rescheduled...Again

Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey has been granted another continuance. However, the judge has declared that it will be the last one granted. The court hearing will definitively happen on June, 30th whether he likes it or not.

The court hearing is in regards for a protection order for 50-year old Jonathon Sharkey to stay away from a 15-year old Florida girl and her mother Melissa. Earlier in the year, Sharkey became involved with the Florida teen on the internet and he eventually traveled two hours to meet the girl at a park near her location. Based on Sharkey's own account on Facebook, he kissed the teen and stated several times that he wanted to impregnate her with or without the permission of the girl's mother. He also claimed that they were to be married as soon as she turned 16.

In addition, Sharkey also threatened to have Melissa killed and wrote several other threatening letters to her via E-mail. Sharkey went as far as to preform an absurd hexing ritual. However, the most disturbing action is when he traveled to Melissa's work before she was even aware of her daughter's relationship with the deranged lunatic.

Sharkey wrote to the court, explaining his reasons for the multiple continuances which included a surgery and his daughter's illness, but then  he started to ramble incoherently. He claimed to be a Russian citizen and that he had connections with the Russian government and that they were going to deal with Melissa. He also claimed that I would be dealt with because my blog harasses him. What Sharkey fails to realize is that he is a public figure and is open to scrutiny. His past lawsuits were not my doing, but his own. The media coverage and court documents are for all to see. I just happened to put them in one spot. Other claims that I have debunked were also proven fairly easily.

On June 30th, Sharkey is going to put on a circus for the court. However, I trust that the judge will see past it and call him out and make the right ruling.

Update: Court Hearing Rescheduled

Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey was to appear in court today, but has been granted a countenance until June 18th. The court hearing is to decide a protection order against Sharkey for being romantically involved with a 15-year old Florida girl and threatening her mother.

The reason for the countenance was the late notice and that he's having surgery.

BREAKING NEWS: The Impaler's Been Served -- Court Hearing is Tomorrow!

Today, Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey has been served to appear in court by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's department for his actions against a 15-year old Florida girl and her family. There will be a court hearing tomorrow where an order of protection will be filed in favor of the girl and her mother. Sharkey preyed upon the girl and threatened to kill her family.

Although Sharkey was served by Hillsborough County, the court hearing will be in Brevard County, the location of the minor and her family. Originally, the court hearing was supposed to be last month, but law enforcement was unable to locate Sharkey.

How was the self-proclaimed vampire found? I was able to track his current whereabouts which happened to be a cancer treatment center. He has been spending most of his time with his ill daughter who is being treated for Leukemia. I gave the address to Melissa, the mother of the teenage girl, and she gave it to the Sheriff of Hillsborough County.

This is the first step in many to put an end to Sharkey's predatory ways.

Please stay tuned more updates.

Online Predators: A True Story

When the average person hears about someone like Sharkey, their first instinct is to laugh, call him a weirdo, and move on. The problem is, there are many others out there just like him, and while they're not all under the delusion that they're powerful vampire wizards, these people have a lot of traits in common that you wouldn't notice at first.

Pictured: a powerful vampire wizard.

Let me tell my story first. This is an account of my experience with an online sexual predator. Even though they don't deserve it, I am keeping their names a secret to protect both myself and the people in question.  I'm old enough that I remember when the Internet was a brand new, and kind of scary, frontier. The main way most people connected then was via Prodigy, or in my case, America Online. Seeing as how I was kind of an antisocial teenager, I enjoyed the idea that I could talk to people without having to actually see them face to face. It was mysterious and kind of fun. At first I began exploring chat rooms and just observing. AOL was very strict about where minors could go using their service, so I was unable to get into the racier chat rooms where I was certain sex was occurring. Again, I was a teenager, and my hormones were percolating like crazy.

Eventually I found a few chat rooms that were family friendly and I began haunting those frequently. One was about music, one was for people interested in writing, and the last was a fantasy-themed role-playing room. Let me clarify: this was not like the kind of role-playing room you might find nowadays. This had little to nothing to do with sex. This was for people with big imaginations to hang out and mingle in a made up character of their choosing, with other people acting as their own character. There were knights, princesses, vampires, fairies, elves, wizards, and just about any other kind of Dungeons and Dragons creature you could imagine. And these people, who tried desperately to stay "in character," would talk and spin tales about their adventures. It seemed harmless enough.

Now, at my age then, I was into two things: vampires and fantasy. So this room was like Mecca to me. I had no idea at the time that.I was probably mingling with a bunch of adults, but it was the early days of the Internet, and AOL was very serious about privacy. The only way I could possibly get myself into trouble is if I gave someone my information.

You can see where this is going.

America Online - powering masturbation fantasies since 1993.

Her screen name was LadyJaye. She and her friend were in the room already the day we met. Honestly, I can't recall how she and I started talking, but after a while of chatting in the room, in character, she sent me a private IM and wanted to know if we could be friends. At this point, it didn't even cross my mind that this person was probably an adult. I certainly hadn't let on that I was a kid. So I enthusiastically said yes to her request, and she was added to my Buddy List.

After a while of talking to each other in character, she finally revealed her real name to me. Stupidly, I did the same. She told me she lived in a small town in Louisiana, which was amazing to me, since I had never even had a pen pal before, so the idea of talking to someone across the country was exciting. It was at this point that things started to take a turn.

I'm going to break from the story for a moment to make a point here. Clearly you can see the direction my story is going in. But have you caught the similarities yet between Lady Jaye and Sharkey? In both cases, they are lonely adults who, for one reason or another, feel the need to live in a fantasy world to make themselves feel better about their life situation. The thing about that, and why it us such a common trait among pedophiles, is that kids remain in a fantasy world of one type or another, sometimes never really leaving it once they enter adulthood. The stress and responsibilities of being an adult prove to be too much for them, and so they retreat into a world of their own design, where they can be anything and do anything they want. Since most other adults would shun this behavior as creepy or immature, they are forced to associate themselves with those who also inhabit a fantasy world... kids. This is part of the reason for the hatred of many social groups that seem to cater to a younger crowd, yet are enjoyed by adults, such as Furries and Bronies.

I see nothing wrong here.  Nope.

Getting back to my story, after revealing her real name to me, Jaye began to tell me about her life. She was in her late 30's, married, and working part time at some office. She was unhappy in her marriage, though, and made no secret of it. To most people, that'd be the first clue that something was wrong. Was she intentionally trolling the chat rooms, looking for an affair? Or was this just happenstance? I'll never know the real answer. I was just shocked that this woman was talking to me, and so candidly too. I was nervous. She seemed really nice, and I hadn't mentioned yet that I was a minor. Would she freak out?

As the days went on, I found myself attracted to this mystery woman. True, I hadn't even met her, or seen a picture of her, but in my adolescent mind, she was a sweetheart: a damsel in distress who needed a shoulder to cry on... and maybe someone to rescue her. But what could I possibly do on the other side of the country? This thought was exactly what she needed to get deeper into my head.

Another aside: while the genders may be reversed, this idea is the same that Sharkey likes to impose on the girls he preys upon. They're all teens, and after all, what moody, depressed, hormonal teenage girl wouldn't want to have a knight in shining armor whisk her away from all her problems and carry her to a secluded castle? That is exactly what he promises them. That is the way he gets into their heads initially. Of course, he fails to live up to his promises, and he then has to impose a.different kind of control over them. More on that in a bit.

The day finally came when Jaye wanted to talk on the phone.  I was terrified.  There was no way that she wouldn't immediately notice I was a kid once I answered the phone.  So I decided to spring the info on her.  I told her that I was not an adult; I told her that she had been conversing with a teenager this whole time.  She was a bit taken aback, but apparently it didn't much matter to her.  She said that for a kid, I was remarkably mature.  This is also a typical excuse that pedophiles will use for why they engaged a minor - ignoring the fact that no matter how mature a child may seem, they are still a child in the eyes of the law, and clearly they still don't understand how the world works.  That is a kind of maturity that only comes with time.

McDonald's is that-a-way!

So we talked.  And talked.  And talked.  And eventually we became so enamored with each other that we exchanged addresses.  This is exactly what I mean when I say that, regardless of how mature I may have seemed at the time, the worldly knowledge was not there in my head.  It did not occur to me that I essentially gave my name, address, and phone number to a complete stranger.

Once we exchanged addresses, she began to send me pictures of herself.  At first, they were just candid photos of herself, her and her friend from the chat room, and so on.  But eventually, the photos became racier.  Pictures of herself in lingerie, making goo-goo eyes, and so on.  Nothing overtly pornographic, as I'm sure the thought occurred to her that she could easily get busted for that, seeing as how she KNEW I was a minor and lived at home.

By this point, my family knew that I was spending a lot of time talking to and receiving mail from some stranger.  They began to ask questions, and stupid as I was, I went ahead and explained the situation from my point of view.  Amazingly, they didn't see it the same way that I did.  They saw it for what it was - a lonely and probably disturbed woman who was attempting to engage a relationship with a minor, one who was at least half her age.  I became angry, not understanding why they didn't see it my way.

This is a great illustration of how pedophiles can manipulate young minds.  Sharkey does this all the time, and in some cases, he gets full-grown adults to agree with his shady morals and ideas.  It's disturbing how easily swayed some people can be, but when it's a naive child, it doesn't take much more than making them feel like they're wanted, like they're special, like someone cares and wants to listen.

Yes!  Yes you are!

Eventually, I was told that I couldn't be on the phone with her anymore.  Jaye's way around that was to have me send her an IM, telling her when I was home, and she'd call me instead.  That way there were no charges on the phone bill.  But my family aren't dummies, and when I started receiving phone calls late at night, they knew who it was.

Jaye became desperate.  She told me that the situation with her husband was getting worse, and that she needed to get away from her.  Her friend told her that she'd be willing to let her stay there if it came down to it, and that I could come down and visit.  This was the last act of a desperate predator - giving me carte blanche to see her without any sort of repercussions from her husband.  But how in the world would I get down there? I didn't see any possible way to get myself down there.

She told me that she'd be willing to come up and get me.  She loved me, she insisted, and was willing to do whatever it took to ensure we were together.  She also told me that she wanted to be "my first."  The idea of having sex with a virgin minor apparently excited some sort of creepy romance novel vibe inside of her, and she wasn't going to have it any other way.

Ironically, it was the passage of time that would do her in.  The longer that this "relationship" went on, the more and more I began thinking.  Seeing as how mature I was for my age - in her own words - it occurred to me that if I were to get into a relationship with her, how long could it possibly last?  Yes, the idea of making it with an older woman and losing my virginity was definitely tempting, but how in the world could I keep this going without turning my back on my family?  I may have been upset with them for trying to cut me off from talking to her, but I still loved them.

Finally, I made a decision.  I was going to break it off.  It was beginning to get a little scary.  Her insistence that she be "my first" and her pushiness was beginning to get on my nerves.  After all, where would we be in twenty years?  She'd be in her fifties while I was still young and spry.  It didn't make sense to me.  And besides that, I started noticing certain girls at my school.  One in particular caught my eye and I thought that I might want to ask her out.  So I did.  And she said yes.

As you can imagine, Jaye was NOT happy about this.  She started on a tirade about how "she can't do the things to you that I can" and "I swear, if she touches you, I'll kick her ass."  The angry ranting really snapped me completely back into reality, and it finally hit home - she was not some sweet damsel in distress, she was a GODDAMN PSYCHO.  No sane adult takes it upon themselves to sexually liberate a kid!  Especially to the point of ruining her marriage and potentially getting arrested.

Like this.  But more Southern.

This was the final straw.  I decided that I had had enough of the online world for now, and I told Jaye that I didn't want to talk to her anymore.  I deleted her from my Buddy List, but that didn't stop her from constantly trying to email me and contact me.  She even kept calling, which pissed off my family.  Eventually she got the idea and gave up.  I changed my screen name and never looked back.

So that's my experience with an online predator.  I'll never know what happened to Jaye, nor do I care.  Just like Sharkey, any full-grown adult who is willing to put themselves in danger of being arrested by taking sexual interest in a minor is sub-human trash.  The excellent thing about modern psychiatry is that we can see how people with similar illnesses are linked by personality traits, and as I look back at my experience with Jaye, I see a lot of the same things in Sharkey.  The sad thing is, the girls he goes after are not quick enough to learn how much of a creeper he is, and a lot of parents just don't monitor what their children do on the Internet.  A lot of them use it as a babysitter, much like TV or video games.  And while no one is going to get kidnapped or raped by watching hours of television or playing their Wii, the Internet is a much scarier place.  I shudder now to think about what would have happened to me if I had given in to Jaye's suggestions.  I can only pray that any other girls that Sharkey encounters think twice before letting him into their life.

Creepy old men only get creepier with age.  Remember that!

Impaler Exposed Interview with Paul Bibeau, Author of Sundays with Vlad

There's a book out there that Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey doesn't want anyone to know about!

It's called Sundays with Vlad and there's a chapter dedicated to him and his imaginary half-sister Kat. After Sharkey read the book, he became so angry that  he used his "Kat" alias to write to other so-called vampires in an insecure attempt to suppress the book and its author.

Obviously, not enough vampires rallied to his..err...her aid.

Who is the author? It's Paul Bibeau and he's written for various well-known magazines like Maxim, Men's Journal, and the Washington Post. He's been a researcher for M2 Pictures and was also an expert for an HBO documentary called True Bloodlines: Vampire Legends, a subject promoting both the hit series True Blood and the vampire myth.

Bibeau was kind enough to answer some questions for Impaler Exposed. Enjoy!

********

Richard: What convinced you to write a book about Dracula and the pop-culture that followed over the past century?

Paul: I've always been interested in the folklore of vampires. And in 2006 I wrote an article for Maxim about a failed Dracula-themed amusement park in Romania. One of the reasons it didn't get off the ground is because the Romanians didn't have ownership of Dracula anymore. He'd left his homeland and become this shape-shifting creature of pop culture. It was an odd parallel to the classic story.

Richard: Tell the readers about your days working for Maxim, Men's Journal, and the Washington Post. What were your favorite topics to write about?

Paul: I was on staff at Maxim in the late 1990s. My proudest moment came when George Will wrote an article about how my magazine was coarsening the culture and destroying the America he grew up in. It was classic Will. You could feel your clothes getting starchy as you read it. Anyway, all the articles he mentioned were pieces I was working on.

Richard: How did you get approached to be an expert for HBO's documentary on vampires?

Paul: After Sundays with Vlad came out, they called me directly. It was a great deal of fun, and a really nice memory.

Richard: The focus of this blog site is to expose Jonathon Sharkey's dirty deeds and you've researched him and dedicated a chapter to him in Sundays with Vlad. How did you found out about him?

Paul: Most of my research on Sharkey comes from the court documents involving his many criminal and civil cases. Sharkey represents himself, and his statements are beyond bizarre. I encourage everyone to read them, and I'm happy your website is making this easy.

Richard: Are you still a researcher for M2 Pictures?

Paul: I'm no longer with M2 -- I had to leave for personal reasons, and I am now a stay at home dad working on a novel.

Richard: Okay, I'm about to ask a serious question and I demand an answer! Jonathon Sharkey vs. Don Henrie -- who wins?

Paul: Don Henrie's not a criminal with multiple convictions, right? I guess he's the winner then.

Richard: Thank you for taking the time to answer some questions, is there anything you'd like to mention before we wrap things up?

Paul: Sharkey seems like a joke - a funny media story. But his crimes have real victims. Anyone dealing with him should do their research.

********

I'd like to thank Paul for taking the time to answer some of my questions. If you'd like to buy his book, you may do so by going to Amazon and if you'd like to read more from him, he has a blog called Goblin Books -- check it out!

Impaler Exposed Interview with Jillian, Mother of Paige Brewer

In 2010, a 16-year old Minnesotan named Paige Brewer ran away with self-proclaimed vampire Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey. For a week and a half, they were held up in an undisclosed motel until they were convinced to meet with police to discuss the situation. When they arrived, police removed Paige from Sharkey and returned her to the custody of Jillian, Paige's mother. Immediately after, Sharkey left Minnesota, picked up a 19-year old girl in Ohio, and moved to Florida.

Jillian was gracious enough to answer some questions to discuss her side of the story and to explain her feelings at the time of the event.

Paige Brewer, daughter of Jillian

Richard: When did you first know that your daughter was talking to Jonathon?
Jillian: I didn't find out about him until after she ran off. I did some digging online, as well as all my friends. I can't remember exactly how the connection was made. She had only mentioned him once before and I didn't know she was talking to him. I thought it was some crazy guy online she was reading about. She was living with my mother who didn't follow my strict rules with Paige -- she thought that she knew better. I said no internet but Paige was allowed to do whatever she wanted when she was with grandma. So she met him in a chat room and he preyed on her daddy issues, the exact thing I always tried to protect her from Richard: When were you first made aware that your daughter went missing? Jillian: My mother called as soon as she found the note Paige left and that's when I immediately started looking online for clues. When I found his MySpace and the proposal video, that's when I knew he had her. Richard: What was going on through your mind during the week and a half that your daughter was with him? Jillian: I was scared to death for her. Not that he would hurt her by beating or anything, but I knew he was doing irreparable damage. He brainwashed her into hating us and raped her. She's still convinced that because she consented (at age 16) that he didn't do anything wrong. I was scared to death of all of this. I was frantic. I was reaching out to local law enforcement, FBI, Secret Service (he has an agent assigned to him who was helping me), reporters, hell the Steve Wilkos show called ME. My only focus was on her. I didn't go to work, I barely slept or ate. I literally wanted to hunt him down and strangle him for touching my daughter. I won't lie, he's lucky I have never met him in person. Richard: During this time, did your daughter or Jonathon try to reach out to you directly? Jillian: Yes, there was one or two emails from her but I suspected it was really him, including the comments left on City Pages. Mostly he posted to me publicly like that awful video he posted on YouTube, the one calling me a drug addict and child abuser. Richard: Was it true that your daughter wanted to be emancipated from you or was that just an excuse used by Jonathon to get his hands of your daughter? Jillian: Paige was already living with her Grandma, at her insistence because grandma had no rules. The week before she ran away, she made a video about how much she loved all of us. I don't believe it was in her head at all before he came around...no more than any other teenage girl. Richard: When the police finally removed Paige from Jonathon and returned her to your custody, what was her feelings towards you? Happy? Begrudging? Apologetic? Jillian: Angry, plus she went through a lot of teasing at the new school. I lived in a very upscale community and they didn't treat her kindly -- they were very cruel. Paige was always an angry child, loving her through this time was challenging but through all her anger, I tried to reassure her that Jonathon was the one to blame and that we loved her. Richard: The police couldn't prove that Jonathon Sharkey sexually touched your daughter during their time together. Did Paige ever reveal that they were sexually active during that time? Jillian: It took her years, but yes. Just recently I asked her: "Just tell me the truth, did you sleep with him?" She looked really embarrassed and said: "Yes, and he was really scary. He growled." I didn't want more details. I have urged her to come forward to the police but she refuses and still defends this pedophile. Richard: Is there anything you'd like to share before we wrap up the interview? Jillian: This man is a sick freak who preys on young vulnerable girls because he can't get real women. I hope this interview helps, and I hope there are no more future victims. Someone needs to stop him -- permanently!
